On reprend le jeu !
Olivier Fanton a écrit :sam. août 31, 2024 11:28 pm

ANGELTHORN
Angelthorn is a very pale creeper with straight thorns. It flowers once a year, on the spring equinox. If a person who is truly pure picks the blossom, it will not fade but remain perpetually fresh, emitting a gentle aroma that frightens away evil spirits.
The village of Sun's Throne worships Apollo. Their ceremonies are centered on a circle of standing stones. On the spring equinox, the sun's rising rays pass between two small stones and rest upon the largest menhir, which is totally encircled by angelthorn.
Weddings in Sun's Throne center around the menhir. The villagers believe that if a thorn is used to pierce flesh, the blood upon the thorn can be mixed with water and given to a lover. If the lover drinks the water, the blood within it creates a glamour on the eyes that makes the blood giver's visage appear beautihl beyond all others. In the marriage, this bloodletting and drinking is mutual.
Creating such a potion and giving it to an unsuspecting person is a terrible crime in Sun's Throne.

Indice n°2
FIRE
From the Teachings of Flux
Fire is life and life, fire. Know this and know wisdom. When we were nothing but dead lumps, it was the spark of HEAVEN'S fire that gave us life, set us upon our feet, made us able to live and work our will!
If you doubt me, answer this challenge: what dies without AIR, drowns in WATER, and dies if not fed? If you say fire, I say the human body, and if you say the human body, I answer fire. I say this not to be obscure but to illuminate! Know the fire and know yourself.
Look into your heart and feel the hunger there. Feed the fire of love and you will see everything in its warmth and light.
Like heart's fire of love, feel the seething coals in your brain, the burning hunger to know. It is matched only by the body's fire to do. Know more, do more!
Listen now, and I will tell you the greatest secret: change is life, and stillness is death. Settle, and though you may still seem to live, your wit will molder, your heart will die, and your body will lose its life as you watch. Action, change, the power of fire-these are not only the powers we are given but all our reason to be.

This book has been coming for a long time.
I mean that the same way that a person will look at the bad luck of someone they don't like, and say "That guy's had it coming for awhile."
When I took over this line some years ago, the sort of questions we got were along the practical side. "If Bob does X, can I do y? It doesn't say anything about it in the book." A good question, because no rules can be complete; players can (and will) come up with some creative situations. That sort of question began to diminish as the rules went into later editions and we published more supplements. The holes were plugged, and people's questions were answered.
It was the questions that began to follow that were the unusual ones: people whose games had gotten out of control, whose players were out-thinking them, who were trying to get the "official" answer to a game procedure, because they thought that was the only way to do something land enforce some kind of order). My opinion on "official" procedures is simple: if the game is some kind of tournament with money and prizes riding on the outcome, then standard rules are important. Otherwise, RTG isn't looking over your shoulders, kids. you paid the 20+ bucks, you can do what you like.
I began to wonder where these peoples' willpower, flexibility, and creativity had gone...
One thing that starting a gaming career using original "white-box D&D™ will teach you: you are running the game, you are telling the story; there is no one telling you how something should be run, because there is no "should be." The very nature of role-playing is that it is innovative, it is make-believe; if there is nothing written down, make it up yourself. Hell, if it's written down and you don't agree, change it to what you want.
The purpose of this book is to restore innovation and creativity, not by rote dogma "you must do X, y, Z for a successful game," but by inspiring through example. What follows is a product of some of the cleverest [Nom du jeu] writers and referees I know, showing how they've run and played their games (some have been at it for as long as the game's been around), hoping that their example will show you the way do it better (and have more fun, to boot).

"Marshal Church, you allege that the defendant was smuggling weapons-grade fissionable material into the Serpentis System and selling it to the black market. You allege that during your attempt to arrest him the defendant shot you twice, and that you broke his neck as you subsequently tried to subdue him. You also allege that your patrol jumpcraft, all your evidence for the above said crimes, as well as the defendant's body, were lost when you were forced to ditch in the ocean. Do you swear to the truth of your statement?"
"Yes, Deputy Magistrate, I do."
"Very well then...case closed. "

Non.
Driven by alien motivations beyond our realm of conception, the Creators passed from system to system through holes they constructed in the very ether of space. Wherever and whenever they went, they transformed barren planets into primordial ecosystems, seeding oceans with genetic material, altering evolutionary pathways, and nurturing sparks of sentience.

Non plus.
Most firearms in 2199 are made of high strength plastics or alloys, and fire caseless, high density plastic bullets. Most are semi-automatic and use binary chemical propellants. Two inert compounds are stored separately in a disposable reservoir clipped in the gun. When the weapon is charged, small amounts of the chemicals are mixed in an ignition chamber, forming an extremely volatile liquid. When the trigger is pulled an electric current ignites the fluid and fires the bullet.
